The main and most-traveled route from Dallas to Las Vegas will take your group on US-287 N and I-40 W. This route clocks in at just over 18 hours and will take you through North Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and into Nevada. Depending on your starting point in Dallas, this route may include some tolls.
If you want to take a slightly different route and stop in different towns in North Texas, your group can opt to take I-20 and I-40 through Abilene and Lubbock. This route is toll-free and will tack on about 30 minutes to your drive. You can also take US-84 W and I-40 W, which will only take you through Lubbock but may include tolls. Amarillo

Distance from Dallas: 9.5 hours or 650 miles
Distance from Las Vegas: 8.5 hours or 576 miles
Regardless of which route you take, you’ll eventually end up on I-40. You’ll go directly through the center of Albuquerque and can even make a stop in New Mexico’s capital of Santa Fe if you have additional time for an hour driving detour.
Albuquerque
Albuquerque is New Mexico’s largest city, which means there’s a long list of things to see and do as you travel. Old Town Albuquerque is the perfect location for groups of history lovers to explore the ways that Native American and Spanish cultures have influenced this historic neighborhood. You’ll also find a variety of museums like the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center and the Petroglyph National Monument dedicated to teaching visitors about native history spanning thousands of years.
Groups traveling with kids should make a trip to the ABQ BioPark located on the Rio Grande. This 64-acre riverfront zoo is home to more than 200 species of animals. Santa Fe
Art buffs will love the selection of museums and attractions in New Mexico’s capital. If museums aren’t your thing but you still love arts and culture, make a stop at Meow Wolf Santa Fe. Distance from Las Vegas: 4 hours or 250 miles

You can even hike around an extinct cinder cone volcano at Sunset Crater.
Is your group more interested in history? Stop at the Wupatki National Monument to learn about the archeological site’s ruins and the Ancient Pueblo People who once lived there. Grand Canyon National Park
