Staten Island is the only one of the five boroughs that isn’t connected by the subway. If you want to get to Staten Island, you only have two choices—driving or taking the Staten Island ferry.
Once you arrive on the island, you’ll find buses but no other form of public transit. If you need faster or more personalized transportation, you’ll have to rely on rideshares, taxis, or a charter bus. Here are a few factors to consider when choosing your transportation:

Because Staten Island is popular with families, it has plenty of cool and educational attractions for children. Your students can learn about New York’s past at Historic Richmond Town, meet adorable animals at the Staten Island Zoo, or interact with the exhibits at the Staten Island Children’s Museum.
With air-conditioning and plush seats, a charter bus rental offers a more comfortable ride than a traditional school bus, especially when you’re transporting kids from Brooklyn or Newark. You can even request WiFi so your kids can do research on their personal electronic devices during the ride.
Address: 614 Broadway, Staten Island, NY 10310
Charter bus parking: The Staten Island Zoo has free parking for charter buses. You can ask your bus driver to drop you off at the Broadway Entrance and then go to the Clove Road parking lot.

Staten Island may not offer as many wedding venues as Brooklyn or Manhattan, but the ones it does offer are beautiful and often more affordable than those in other boroughs. The Snug Harbor Botanical Garden has its own wedding venue, as does the Grand Oaks Country Club. You can also rent space at one of the island’s many hotels, like the Hilton Garden Inn or The Historic Old Bermuda Inn.

If you’d like to catch a baseball game but you’re not up for the crowds and prices at Yankee Stadium or Citi Field, head to Richmond County Bank Ballpark, home of the Staten Island Yankees. A minor league affiliate of their famous namesake, the team has previously featured players like Gary Sanchez and Brett Gardner.
The Staten Island Yankees also share their ballpark with a variety of amateur teams. If you’re attending a tournament or game there, Shofur can provide a comfortable charter bus rental for your team with plenty of storage space for bats, balls, and gloves.
Address: 75 Richmond Terrace, Staten Island, NY 10301
Charter bus parking: The stadium has two parking garages, but full-size charter buses may not be able to fit inside them. Instead, your driver can drop you off in front of the stadium and then park in a public paid lot, like the one near the Staten Island Ferry Terminal.
Whether you’re visiting Staten Island with your extended family, as part of a tour, or with your youth group, the borough has many exciting destinations for your team to visit. Here are some of our favorites:

Snug Harbor also houses the Staten Island Museum and Staten Island Children’s Museum.

Located on the Narrows near the Verrazano Bridge, this historic fort was built by Dutch settlers in 1663. British soldiers occupied and reinforced the fort in 1779, turning it into the expansive military installation you can tour today. In addition to being one of the oldest still-standing military forts in America, Fort Wadsworth offers plenty of outdoor green space and beautiful views of the bridge and the water.
Bus tip: The Fort Wadsworth Visitor Center has abundant parking, so you can easily find a spot to park your bus.
Best parking address: 120 New York Ave, Staten Island, NY 10305
Group tickets: Tickets aren’t required to tour the fort, the walking trails, or the small museum about the fort’s history.
Great for: Field trips, tour groups, youth groups
Alice Austen was one of America’s earliest and most prolific female photographers, as well as one of the first to work outside a studio. Over the course of her career, she took almost 8,000 photographs that explored topics from the experiences of recent immigrants to the lives of wealthy Victorian women.
She also captured many pictures of loving, intimate relationships between women for her and her friends’ private collections, and she spent 53 years in a devoted relationship with her partner, Gertrude Tate. The Alice Austen House has been designated a national site of LGBTQ+ history and contains exhibits about Austen and Tate’s life there as well as about Austen’s photography.
Bus tip: The museum has a small gravel parking lot off Hylan Boulevard. Street parking is also often available along nearby Edgewater Street.
Best parking address: 2 Hylan Blvd, Staten Island, NY 10305

The answer is: it depends. When you call one of our 24/7 reservation specialists with your trip details, they will build a quote for you based on a few factors, including how far you'll be traveling, which bus you rent, how many hours or days you will need the rental, and where and when you will be picked up. Depending on your trip itinerary, your rental cost will be broken down by hour, day, or mile.
You can learn more on our charter bus pricing page, and your reservation specialist will be happy to break down pricing further when you call.
Our network offers full-size charter buses, minibus rentals, and sprinter vans. Full-size charter bus rentals are great for larger groups or longer distance trips and can accommodate up to 56 passengers, while minibus rentals work well for medium-sized groups of 12 to 25 passengers. Groups even smaller than that can rent a sprinter van, which comfortably accommodates up to 12 people.
Visit our buses page to learn more about the charter bus options available in Shofur's network.
