Why Rent a Charter Bus in Miami?
On top of being one of the most populated metro areas in the region, Miami sees a large number of travelers every day. This means also seeing more than its fair share of traffic. Seriously, traffic in the Southern United States doesn’t get much worse than in Miami (though Atlanta locals may disagree). What does that mean for your next group trip around sunny South Florida? That you’ll need the most efficient transportation possible!
Leave your group’s transportation to Shofur. A Miami charter bus rental is a great way for large groups to get around town. Shofur has access to a wide selection of charter bus rentals to fit your travel needs.
If you’re traveling solo or have a small group, there are still a few other ways to get around the city. Check out these transportation options around Miami to choose which option is best for your trip:
- Miami Metro Public Transportation: The Miami public transportation system includes the Metrobus, Metromover, and Metrorail. Fares start at $2.25 a ride and transit passes can be purchased for extended trips. Public transportation is a great way to travel if most of your time will be spent in certain neighborhoods. The Metrorail conveniently services Miami International Airport and offers easy transfers from Tri-Rail, which services Fort Lauderdale (including Fort Lauderdale Airport) and Palm Beach County. Metrorail and Metromover routes are widespread throughout areas like Downtown Miami and Brickell but quickly become sparse elsewhere (you can count out easy public transportation to the beach.) The bus offers more routes but often runs behind schedule, leaving many travelers frustrated.
- Rideshare services: These services are one of the most popular ways for travelers to get around Miami. Uber and Lyft are the most common rideshares offered in South Florida and can easily be hailed anywhere. If you’re traveling with up to 6 people, a rideshare service is probably your best option. Larger groups will have to hail several rideshares which can quickly become an organizational mess.
- Taxis: Similar to rideshares, taxis can be an efficient way to get around for solo travelers and small groups. Well, until Miami rush hour hits. If you’re traveling during rush hour, sitting in a taxi among traffic can easily rack up your fare. Miami is also a very spread out city. The last thing you’ll want is to watch your taxi fare slowly but steadily rise as you shuttle between South Miami and Miami Beach.
- Charter buses: A Miami charter bus rental from Shofur can be fitted to meet your group’s exact needs. Motorcoaches come in a variety of sizes from full-sized coaches to minibuses to accommodate groups of all sizes. Each bus rental includes a professional driver who will work with your unique itinerary and make sure your group is comfortably shuttled to each stop. You can also request WiFi, power outlets, reclining seats, and TVs with DVD players to make your trip even better.

Wedding Shuttle Bus Rentals in Miami
South Florida’s beautiful weather, lush greenery, and waterfront views sound like the perfect backdrop for a wedding. If you need a shuttle bus for any wedding-related event, Shofur will make sure everything is handled. Whether you need a minibus shuttle service for your intimate beachfront ceremony or a full-size charter bus for your luxurious large event, we’ve got your guest transportation covered. Here are a few ways Shofur can make your wedding events run as smoothly as possible:
● Bachelor and bachelorette parties: Bar-hopping between Wynwood, Brickell, and Miami Beach sounds like a fun way to spend your last hurrah. At least until you have to consider the cost of XL rideshares between each spot. Rent a minibus for your entire group to have a private ride and built-in DD all night.
● Bridal showers and rehearsal dinners: If you’re hosting either event in a busy area, you’ll definitely want to take care of transportation for guests. A bridal shower at the breathtaking Cafe Roval sounds like a great idea until you have to organize parking for a few dozen guests. Instead, rent a bus suited to your guest size to shuttle everyone to the restaurant or event space.
● Day-of guest transportation: The last thing anyone should be worried about on their wedding day is how everyone will make it to the venue. Leave that to Shofur and your team of transportation professionals. Your wedding won’t run off schedule as you wait for your best man to circle the block looking for parking after regrettably oversleeping.
● Destination weddings: Saying “I do” in Miami probably sounds ideal for a lot of couples, especially if you’re shooting for a winter date. Give your loved ones a taste of South Florida sunshine with a destination wedding and private group transportation, no rental cars needed.
Miami Corporate Event Transportation Services
Miami is a major center for international business, attracting visitors from around the world. Events with a large number of international travelers should also consider the transportation concerns of guests. Some international guests may not be qualified (or even feel comfortable enough) to drive in Miami, which can add a large amount of stress to their trip.
Luckily, companies and industry events of all sizes can rely on Shofur for corporate shuttle services. We work with a large network of charter bus providers and certified drivers to easily provide solutions for everything from executive-level meetings to multi-day conventions at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Business guests can sit back and relax if they get stuck in Miami traffic while a professional driver handles everything. Everyone can set up their laptops to work on the road with onboard WiFi and power outlets. If they’d rather relax after a long flight into Miami, they can stretch out in reclining seats and get some shuteye on the way to lodging.
Are you in need of an upscale shuttle for VIP guests? Let your reservation expert know and we’ll do our best to get you the perfect bus outfitted with premium amenities.
Along with corporate event transportation, we can also organize ongoing shuttles for local businesses. An ongoing shuttle can be a daily ride for employees parking at an off-site lot or even a weekly service for recurring meetings. When you call us at 1-800-436-8719, just let your reservation expert know you’re interested in an ongoing shuttle service. We’ll be able to draw up a contract to fit the duration of your transportation needs.

Cruise Port Shuttles & Airport Shuttles
The Miami metropolitan area is serviced by two airports, Miami International Airport (MIA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL). Depending on the time you’re traveling, flying into Miami can get very expensive, especially when you’re with a large group. Alternatively, many travelers decide to fly into Fort Lauderdale, which usually offers more affordable airfare. If you need an airport transfer shuttle service from Fort Lauderdale to Miami, Shofur is here to help. Renting a private motorcoach for your airport transfer will ensure every passenger travels comfortably while shuttling to Miami.
Cruise-goers can also rely on Shofur for shuttles to and from Port Miami. Booking a cruise port shuttle for your vacation group is the easiest way to keep everyone traveling on the same schedule. You won’t have to wait to board your cruise ship when someone’s rideshare is running late. Travel without the worry of leaving someone behind at the cruise port while they’re stuck in traffic or looking for on-port parking.
Are you planning a day out on the water out of a smaller Florida port? Charter a bus from Miami to Key West for your private cruise or for any major event down in the Conch Republic. Having a private ride for Fantasy Fest or Lobsterfest means your group will have a built-in DD for your entire trip.
Transportation to Art Basel, Ultra, and Miami’s Biggest Events
Although Miami is known for its pristine year-round weather, you’ll find the largest selection of events during the cooler months, when spring and winter weather offer much needed relief from the heat. Miami’s biggest events attract thousands of attendees, adding to the city’s already chaotic traffic situation. Groups attending a major Miami event should book a shuttle service to simplify their travels.
Whether you’re a group of friends traveling to Miami or you’re an event organizer, give Shofur a call to organize transportation to these top events:
- Art Basel - December - January; week-long international art convention with more than 80,000 visitors and dozens of events across Miami’s trendiest neighborhoods.
- Orange Bowl - January; second-oldest college football bowl game in the country that serves as a rotating College Football Playoff qualifier.

Charter Bus Rentals from Miami to Orlando
upgraded transportation option for the trip to Orlando. A Miami charter bus rental from Shofur can come equipped with premium amenities to make your students’ 4-hour ride an enjoyable one. Rent a bus with WiFi for students to stay entertained with Youtube, Instagram, and games on their mobile devices. Or request that your bus comes equipped with TVs and DVD players to pass the time with crowd-favorite films.
Even if you’re just a group of friends or family taking a big trip from MIA to Orlando, a bus rental will make shuttling between your hotel and theme parks a breeze. No waiting on hotel shuttles or in long lines to park your car at Disney or Universal. Have your bus driver drop your group off curbside for a fun vacation at Magic Kingdom or the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
Your route from Miami to Orlando will likely take your group up I-95, which goes through dozens of small waterfront cities in Broward, Palm Beach, and Brevard counties. If you have plenty of time to spare, make a stop to admire the beautiful seascape at Vero Beach and Cocoa
Bus Trips from Miami to Atlanta
Atlanta is the perfect place for Florida locals to plan a getaway. You’re probably tired of theme parks and beaches, so a group trip to Atlanta is a great way to switch up your scenery. Get a taste of important civil rights history at the Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site, learn everything there is to know about Coke at World of Coca-Cola, and visit one of the world's largest aquariums, The Georgia Aquarium.
The trip from Miami to Atlanta isn’t one for passengers who aren’t too keen on long rides. The drive is usually around 10 hours but horrible traffic in both cities can make your road time much longer. Rather than organizing a caravan of cars, rent a motorcoach for the long haul to Atlanta. If you hit any major traffic jams, just sit back and relax while your driver handles it for you. Everyone onboard can catch up on sleep in reclining seats or enjoy entertainment with the bus’s TVs, WiFi, and power outlets.
Depending on the route you take, you'll get to see a great deal of the Florida landscape through your bus’s panoramic windows. Taking the most direct route means you can make a stop in the outskirts of Orlando, say hi to UF’s mascots Albert and Alberta the gators while driving through Gainesville, and grab a bite of tasty southern food in Valdosta. Alternatively, if you’re taking a coastal route, stop in Jacksonville to admire the beautiful beaches (consider stopping at nearby Amelia Island or Fernandina Beach while you’re there) and then take a break in Savannah to tour the city’s charming historic spaces.
Our Favorite Group-Friendly Destinations in Miami
Miami has plenty to see and do. From visiting art museums to exploring trendy neighborhoods, you’ll have more than enough to fill your itinerary. Grab your comfy walking shoes and a cafecito for the road to these top Miami attractions:
Vizcaya Museum & Gardens
Great for: field trips, senior outings, wedding ceremonies, and groups of history and architecture lovers
Originally known as Villa Vizcaya, this historic building is located waterfront on Biscayne Bay and is arguably one of the most beautiful architectural landmarks in the city. Constructed between 1914 and 1923 in the Mediterranean Revival and Italian Renaissance styles, this estate was the winter home of industrial mogul James Deering. The luxurious 50-acre estate was converted into a museum some time after Deering’s death and houses original works of art and furnishings from his time as its primary resident. The villa’s Main House is more than 45,000 square feet with 54 rooms (only 34 of which are open to the public), and 10 acres of the estate are made up of lush, perfectly-manicured Italian Renaissance formal gardens.
Vizcaya offers guided group programs for adults, primary schools, and university students. Groups may also organize a self-guided visit for a flat rate fee with at least two weeks’ prior reservation. Tour rates are based on increments of 25 visitors, so your price will vary quite a bit depending on your group size.
Bus tip: Visitors traveling by car will have two free parking lots to choose from while groups traveling by bus will need to organize parking arrangements at group.tours@vizcaya.org or (305) 860-8442.

Wynwood Walls and District
Great for: art classes, sightseeing groups, and foodies
After going through major rounds of revitalization in the early 2000s, the Wynwood neighborhood became the city’s center of art and hipster culture. Wynwood Walls, a massive street art and graffiti project, was established in 2009 to bring together the works of local and international artists. Today, the neighborhood is home to dozens of art galleries, local eateries and boutiques, a thriving nightlife scene, and rotating murals by renowned street artists like Shepard Fairey, Maya Hayuk, and ROA. If you’re looking for an Instagram-worthy location that isn’t Miami Beach, hop on over to Wynwood. You won’t be disappointed.
One of the best ways to see everything Wynwood has to offer is by trekking the streets on foot. You’ll surely stumble upon a shop that piques your interest or the smells of decadent food at hotspots like Coyo Taco and 1-800-Lucky. Start your tour at the Wynwood Walls and take your time exploring the neighborhood. If you happen to be traveling on the second Saturday of the month, expect massive crowds for the monthly Wynwood Art Walk. Official tours of the Wynwood Walls are available through the organization’s website (keep in mind, this only covers a small portion of the neighborhood and its art).
Bus tip: Most roads around Wynwood are one lane each way, which can be difficult for full-size charter buses to maneuver. It’s highly recommended you rent a minibus or fleet of minibuses for easier travel.
Wynwood Walls Address: 2520 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127
Phone: (305) 531-4411
Miami Design District
Great for: anyone who wants a more upscale version of Wynwood
The Miami Design District is the posh and rich older sibling to Wynwood’s laid-back, hipster crowd. If you’re with an athletic bunch looking for a walk, it’s only about a mile up the road from Wynwood. Or you can hop on your charter bus to explore this little pocket of upscale living. If you’re a group of high fashion and luxury item enthusiasts, the Miami Design District may be more your speed than Wynwood. The district is filled with sleek architecture, modern art, and luxury stores like Louis Vuitton and Hermès. Spend your day window shopping (or burn some cash if that’s on your agenda), enjoy the beautiful art installations, and have an upscale group dining experience at restaurants like L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon.
Bus tip: The design district has four parking garages (referred to as “parkitecture” due to their modern and artsy designs) but limited street options. Renting the smallest model of minibus will give your group the biggest selection of parking options. If your group is planning to do lots of shopping, consider securely storing your loot on your bus so you won’t have to carry heavy bags around the district.
Main District Address: 140 NE 39th St., Miami, FL 33137

Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM)
Great for: youth groups, field trips, and groups of art lovers of any age
The PAMM is one of the largest art museums in Miami, holding a diverse permanent collection of modern and contemporary art. The museum overlooks Biscayne Bay and is easily recognizable by its beautiful architecture by Herzog & de Meuron, hanging gardens, and waterfront views. The PAMM is also home to the largest collection of contemporary Cuban art in the country with works by José Bedia Valdés and Wilfredo Lam. Even if you’re not a big fan of modern, contemporary, and conceptual art, visiting the PAMM is well worth it just for the building itself and wonderful views.
Group discounts are not available at the PAMM but all groups of 6 or more guests must call the museum at (305) 375-3000 to inform them of their arrival. Admission to the museum is free for children under 6, active duty military, and all Miami K-12 public schools. Admission is also free for all visitors on the second Saturday and first Thursday of the month. Free public docent-led tours are available daily, and private group tours are available with three weeks’ prior notice.
Bus tip: The museum is easily accessible by Metromover public transportation, but if you’re traveling with a large group, corralling everyone off at the Museum Park station is easier said than done. Taking a bus is a great alternative, and off-site parking can be found at Maurice A. Ferré Park if your vehicle is too large for the PAMM’s on-site garage.
Travel tip: If you have plenty of time on your schedule, consider hopping on your bus to travel across A1A and over to Miami Beach. It’s only a 5-mile ride and the beach is home to The Wolfsonian, another popular art museum with budget-friendly admission. The Wolfsonian’s collection is small but mighty, with many eclectic Art Deco pieces from the 1920s and 1930s. Once you’re done at The Wolfsonian, take a stroll through South Beach’s nearby Art Deco Historic District.
PAMM Address: 1103 Biscayne Blvd., Miami, FL 33132
Phone: (305) 375-3000
The Wolfsonian Address: 1001 Washington Ave, Miami Beach, FL 33139

Brickell City Centre
Great for: groups traveling for bachelor, bachelorette, and adult birthday parties
Miami’s Brickell neighborhood is a haven for many young professionals who want to work hard and play hard. Your Brickell exploration should start at Brickell City Centre, the heart of the neighborhood. Brickell City Centre is an open-air mall boasting modern architecture, luxury condos, high-end shopping, an upscale movie theater, hip restaurants and bars, and the posh EAST Hotel. The city centre also offers great views of the Miami River and is just a few blocks away from the bay. It’s the perfect place to begin a night of celebration at one of many eateries or at Sugar, the EAST Hotel’s rooftop bar.
Brickell City Centre’s location also gives groups access to many nearby nightlife spots for a special evening out. If you want a taste of Brickell’s cool metropolitan atmosphere in the evening, hoofing it between bars and lounges isn’t a bad idea. But if you have group members who have mobility concerns or maybe just have on uncomfortable shoes, hop on your minibus between locations. Then check out popular spots like Blackbird Ordinary, Blue Martini, and RedBar.
Bus tip: Parking in the Brickell area is primarily garage and street parking (there are some small privately-run lots, but they’re very sparse). Be sure to organize parking options with your bus driver throughout your time in the area.
Brickell City Centre Address: 701 S Miami Ave, Miami, FL 33130
Phone: (305) 350-9922
