Pristine Waterfront

Originally settled as a portage location to help travelers get past the falls, the city has since created a beautiful state park. The Falls of the Ohio State Park offers seasonal flower gardens and easy access trails, as well as great views of the falls. The Waterfront Park, along the Ohio River, is also a beautiful spot to spend an afternoon. Complete with three distinct phases, the 85-acre park accommodates weddings, picnics, large public events, and a swing garden

For a more historical approach on the water, visit the water tower. Constructed in Greek fashion in the mid 1800's, the water tower is the oldest ornamental tower of it's type. It now sits near the WaterWorks Museum and Water Tower Park, both giving more in-depth history of the tower and city.

To actually get on the water, though, you'll want to get a ticket aboard the Belle of Louisville. This old Mississippi River steamboat gives guests a fun combination of sightseeing and dinner. The company works with groups of twenty or more, smaller parties, or you can reserve the whole vessel.

Family Friendly

The city has many family friendly museums and options. The Speed Art Museum is the oldest and largest art museum in the state of Kentucky. For an adventurous day out, be sure to hit Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay. this 63-acre amusement and water park has everything you need to keep the kids busy and entertained.

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft is a fun way to recognize the skill and craftsmanship of artists around the state. It strives to educate the public about the history and importance of handmade crafts. Also a great stop for families with children is the Slugger Museum and Factory. Here, visitors can learn about the history of the famous baseball bats, hold some of the historic ones, and watch them be made in the factory.

Great Eats

Every great destination has great food to go with it. Doc Crow's restaurant features southern-style foods and drinks with a fun and upbeat atmosphere. Patrons love the baby back ribs and catfish platter, and kids can dine on their own pork sandwich.

Another excellent choice is Harvest, voted one of the top restaurants in the city. The menu is locally grown and much of the meat is preserved and smoked in-house. The restuaruant itself is located in the NuLu arts district and a short walk from downtown.

Proof on Main restaurant is a great place to visit when seeking a relaxing and delicious place to catch lunch, brunch, or dinner. Named one of the Best American Hotel Bars, the site features extensive beer and wine menus as well as excellent mixed drinks.

Historical Sites

To gather in the history of the area, take a walk through the older sections of the city. Enjoy the National Historic Preservation District with it's beautiful homes, large trees, and scenic views. Visiting the Zachary Taylor National Cemetery will allow you to see the burial site of the 12th President of the United States.

A more indoor option for history buffs is the Frazier History Museum, which specializes in local history and features traveling exhibits. A favorite of the area is the Farmington Plantation, where visitors can learn about life on a Kentucky plantation and explore the 18-acres of land. The home was designed by Thomas Jefferson.

The answer is: it depends. When you call one of our 24/7 reservation specialists with your trip details, they will build a quote for you based on a few factors, including how far you'll be traveling, which bus you rent, how many hours or days you will need the rental, and where and when you will be picked up. Depending on your trip itinerary, your rental cost will be broken down by hour, day, or mile.

You can learn more on our charter bus pricing page, and your reservation specialist will be happy to break down pricing further when you call.

Our network offers full-size charter buses, minibus rentals, and sprinter vans. Groups even smaller than that can rent a sprinter van, which comfortably accommodates up to 12 people.
