Following the recent tragedy at Florida’s Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, an estimated 500,000 protesters plan to rally in Washington, D.C. to voice their concerns regarding current gun control laws, with many more sister marches scheduled to take place across the nation. All rallies will take place Saturday, March 24, 2018.
Shofur would like to show our support of their efforts, not only by providing charter buses to those who wish to attend the rally; but also by donating to causes that advocate for safer school environments.
We’re happy to announce that for each bus booked through Shofur*, we will donate $150.00 to one of three anti gun-violence campaigns. We’ve carefully chosen Sandy Hook Promise, Coalition to Stop Gun Violence, and the March for Our Lives fund as our top choices.

To all protesters:
As a child, I saw my home country of Albania torn apart by war. My family feared for our safety every time we walked out of our door, driving us to flee to America-- where we dreamed of a life that was free of violence. This is the greatest country in the world; but it breaks my heart that children can’t feel safe here.
All children deserve a safe environment in which they can learn and grow. Safety should be the number-one priority of all educational institutions, and this march, along with these causes, represents a commitment to a more secure world for our young ones. Limiting access to firearms is the first step in bringing our nation out of a time when mass shootings are a regular occurance.
I’m happy to supply as many buses as I can to help the supporters of this cause get to Washington. I proudly support all of those directly and indirectly affected by recent shootings as they fight for the changes we need to see in this country.

Sandy Hook Promise educates supporters to identify at-risk individuals and to help promote practices that keep firearms safe and secure. With programs such as “Know the Signs,” students, parents, teachers, and other leaders are encouraged to intervene when they recognize early signs of violence in their classmates or colleagues. Through their efforts, SHP has helped to prevent not only school shootings, but also teen suicides and other acts of violence.
Through their efforts, the CSGV has successfully developed the Gun Violence Restraining Order, which allows both law enforcement and family members to take firearms away from loved ones who they believe to be in crisis. The organization continues to push for stricter gun control while also working to implement programs that prevent suicide and keep firearms away from other dangerous individuals.
The “March for Our Lives” movement encourages lawmakers to finally make a change regarding gun control. Organized by students across the nation, their mission is to ensure that no child ever has to fear for their life at school. As organizers of the upcoming march, they hope to inspire protesters and congressmen to do whatever it takes to make our schools safer. Currently, all donations to March for Our Lives go towards helping to transport people to the march.
